Extra Lifestyle – The Chic Geek

  • Sharebar

So if any of you follow my twitter, you’ve seen me tweet over and over about GeekGirlCon. If you haven’t, you may be thinking, “What the heck is GeekGirlCon?”

Well, to put it simply, GeekGirlCon is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the involvement and contribution of women in Geek Culture. They’ve held a series of events including flash mobs, benefit concerts and movie nights to ramp up to their convention which will be happening this Saturday/Sunday (October 8th and 9th).

Now gents, before you ask–yes, you can go. Regardless that this convention focuses on the female contribution in geek culture, it is not a ‘girls only’ club.

However… in view of the upcoming convention, I wanted to share a few beauty/fashion ideas of a geek girl nature.

Make-Up
Geek Chic Cosmetics, true to name, distributes geek inspired cosmetics. They have beautiful colors and nothing but rave reviews.

To the left is an eyeshadow called “The Imp”, named of course after Tyrion Lannister from the Game of Thrones Series. Currently this distributor has collections that cover both tv-shows and video games, including Firefly, Game of Thrones, Mass Effect–you name it.

Personally, I have procured a few of their products myself and will be giving a full on review at a later date. However, I have no doubt it will be a great one. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Nails:
Geeky manicure? No problem.

Clothing:

If you haven’t checked out Jinx, then you should. Some really rockin’ geeky t-shirts reside there.

I needn’t mention you check out Teefury as I’ve raved about them before.

Jewelry:
And of course, the icing on the cake, check out Think Geek and Eclectic Elements.
