Nymphomation By Jeff Noon
Batling, your media hot digital librarian, with the first of many reviews to come I hope. This time, let me pull the feather from my hair and put in my mouth. Put away your assignments and records.
Now Read This!
Want some good stuff? I feel like a drug dealer here. Jeff Noon has that effect on me. We go back he and I, not that we’ve ever met. I first heard about Mr. Noon after reading a review of his about Automated Alice in Rolling Stone magazine. I knew from that eight line blurb that I had to have it. My sixteenth birthday rolls around, my mom hands me a beautifully wrapped package. Can you guess what’s inside? Well can you? That began my love of the techno drenced futuristic England Noon never fails to create. I hope you’re hungry for some number gumbo!
Nymphomation takes us back (or to if you’ve never read Noon)
Are you intriqued? Well, let’s spice it up a bit shall we? What do a waiter, a probability student, a genetist and a DJ have in common? Bad luck and keen minds. Add to that a runaway girl, a certain other girl and her mentor stir lightly and add blurb-verts to taste and you got one hell of a wild ride! Want a taste, then you have to read Nymphomation.
This book is a well planned maze, with unexpected twists and turns. Something seems just around every corner. I give this book my highest rating, five bats! That’s right it stays in my permanent collection. Personally, this is my second favorite book by Jeff Noon. (can you guess what the first is? well, can you?) Remember kids, play to win!
