Seas are rising!… or are they?

By Gorf

Seems someone or some ‘ones’ has/have an agenda on the UN’s IPCC (United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and certain failed Presidential candidates that think they can make films. The data that has been fed to the American public and the world about the sea levels rising due to “global warming” was… get this… falsified.

Yup, check it out: http://newsbusters.org/node/13698

It’s always nice to know that there are still some ethical scientist out there that will call the guys making millions on grant money on their BS. Now, the question is, where did these panel ’scientist’ go to university to get such outstanding morals and ethics?

“Failed presidential candidate”? Wow, I wish my dad could buy me a presidency, but that’s a story for another day.

If you would have bothered to read the whole article you pointed to (which I doubt you did), you would have seen that he never claims that the documentation has been falsified, rather it was exaggerated. Which is a huge difference. Falsified implies “created out of thin air”, “fictitious” or “BS” as you so aptly put it. For example, when current President Bush declared that there was WMD in Iraq, it was “falsified” information. Saying that the troops are making progress in the war, also falsified information.

An exaggeration on the other hand is saying things like I once caught a fish this big (extends arms as far as they can go). He says that the oceans are rising by nearly 1.1 mm a year. In the next 1000 years it will be up by a meter. I guess you must be one of those people who think along the lines that “if I’m not here, it won’t really matter will it.”

If you look at the chart in the article from “Newsbusters” (a source of information which I’m sure has a following of dozens), you will notice the apparently, weather is in a constant flow upwards. Now I’m no mathematician, but temeprature and melting point change exponentially don’t they? So if the water raises by 1.1 mm in 2006 for example, it should at least raise by let’s say 1.5 mm the next year because climate is changing, the evidence supporting the claim are so numerous that ignoring them is along the same lines as the Earth is the center of the universe mentality.

Wait you don’t believe that do you?

    I digress.

This Nils-Axel Mörner guy that is quoted in the article does seem awesome though. Fun at parties, likes to have a good time. Although I hear he went to a state college. In Sweeden.
