“Rock Band” to hit the stage in late 2007
For those who get bored in a party when someones grabs the guitar and decides to play Guitar Hero for a few hours, here is your chance to join in. Rock Band by Harmonix Music Systems.
Although truth be told, if you want to start your own living room band, you will have to shell out quite a bit of $$$. You will need, tow guitars (the second one will act like a bass), a microphone for the vocals and a drum set. Certain stores will be offering a discounted “bundle” which will retail for about $200. Since the guitar from Guitar Hero will likely be usable for Rock Band as well, so you might want to pick up the items individually.
The play list for the moment is sketchy and growing. So far, Nirvana (In Bloom), Blue Oyster Cult (The Reaper), The Hives (Main Offender), Mountain (Mississippi Queen), Black Sabbath (Paranoid), Weezer (Say It Ain’t So)David Bowie (Suffragette City) and The Who (Won’t Get Fooled Again) are confirmed to be playable tracks. There is also an unconfirmed rumor going around about The Ramones (Rockaway Beach) is to be added to the play list.
Visit the official game website and vote for the songs YOU think should be added to the playlist. So like that when your cheap ass friends come over to play “with you”, at least you might have songs that you will wanna watch them play.
The game will slated to be released in November 2007.
