Profile
I was born in Seattle and have grown up around the Metro area ever since. I've visited other parts of the country (save for the South), Canada (due to mom being Canadian), Mexico, and Hawaii (mentioned seperately for obvious reasons), but will always consider W. Washington "home". I used to be big into video games, but got out of it after Sega Genesis™. I own the Master System™ (8-bit), Game Gear™ (portable), 32X™ adaptor for Genesis™, Genesis™ (16-bit), and the Calicovision Adam™ with the Buck Rodgers game on tape cassette. I'm an avid Vampire: the Masquerade® LARP'er and have been doing so since August 27th, 2001 at Emerald City Chronicles, formerly known as Seattle By Choice, in or under Red Square. I table-topped Vampire for 2.5 years prior to that and did some D&D under 2nd ed prior to that (Yes, I understand and like THAC0). My 'gateway drug' to this geekdom was Magic: the Gathering™, which I got very into and then had $3000 worth of cards stolen. Needless to say, I was rather disenchanted with it after that and have concentrated on LARP since. I have a great love for musclecars, especially Mustangs™, and especially the 1971-73 models, as I own a '72 Mach1 that I'm resto-modding. I also like firearms. Yes, that's right, I'm a bit of a gun-nut. I think some are actually rather aesthetic as well as functional tools. I find it rather centering to go the range and concentrate on putting a projectile through a little x on a piece of paper; you lose all thoughts of the world around you and all that matters is controlling your breathing, controlling your aim and 'making the shot'. It's how I meditate, since I'm no longer in martial arts. Now that I've brought it up, I have taken two forms of martial arts. 3.5 years of Judo from when I was 7-10 years old and competed in a few local and one national tournament. 4.5 years of Kenpo Karate from the age of 13-17. There's actually a story behind the gaps of time above. At 10 years old, I spiral-fractured my right femur and then six months later, broke it from side to side in a different place. That ended my Judo career. After healing a sufficient amount I got into Kenpo, but in Junior year in highschool, I was being dumb and dislocated my right kneecap, for which I had to have surgery a year later to remove a 1/4" bone chip (which they didn't find, but flushed out a lot of little ones). That ended my Kenpo career. I graduated from Edmonds-Woodway HS, went to Shoreline C.C., and have transfered to the U. of Washington. I'm working towards my degree in chemistry and will probably end up in something analytical, perhaps forensic chemistry. Also, I really loved Organic Chemistry, which I've heard you either love or despise; I guess I was lucky.
